THE ROLE

This role is for an IT Operations Administrator, based in London. This role will report into the Head of Infrastructure.

The IT Operations Administrator plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Technology & Innovation department. The role ensures the smooth orchestration of service tickets, maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation, and produces insightful reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement across IT services.

The role itself will involve a range of activities including:

  • Developing, maintaining, and updating IT operational documentation such as SOPs, runbooks, and configuration records
  • Ensuring documentation is standardised, accessible, compliant, and regularly reviewed in collaboration with technical teams
  • Generating regular and ad-hoc reports on system performance, incident trends, and service metrics
  • Analysing ticket data to identify recurring issues and recommending process improvements to IT leadership
  • Overseeing ticket orchestration and service management activities
  • Serving as a liaison between technical teams to facilitate effective communication

This role is a great first step into an IT career. The ideal candidate will be organised, eager to learn, and motivated by the opportunity to support IT operations in a busy environment. They don’t need extensive technical experience, but they should have a genuine interest in technology and a willingness to build their skills over time.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to keep documentation and records accurate and up to date
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow processes carefullyGood communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues across the IT team
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn from others
  • Interest in developing IT knowledge, with the potential to grow into a technical helpdesk or IT operations role in the future
