The Role

This role is for a Client Director based in New York.

 

The US Client Director is responsible for day-to-day management and setting the strategic direction of the relationship with a number of our clients.

The role itself will involve a range of activities including:
Client management

  • Executive Presence: Commands senior client rooms with clarity and confidence; able to influence CMOs and brand leaders, challenge assumptions, and defend strategic recommendations.
  • Relationship Expert: Have oversight of all aspects of the client relationship, ensuring it is appropriately managed, developed and that requirements are met and anticipated.
  • Organic Business Development: Identifying opportunities to deepen customer relationships and offering added value services across the full spectrum of marketing activities including media, creative, digital, social, influencer and production.
  • Negotiation Skills: Thoughtful and measured approach to negotiation, able to balance and incorporate multiple variables in arriving at the desired outcome.
  • Strategic Accountability: Owns the strategic idea from insight through creative expression; accountable for clarity, bravery, and usefulness of the strategy—not just its execution

Strategic Thinking and Project delivery

  • Strategic Rigor with Business Acumen: Delivers strategic thinking that is grounded in business reality—able to connect brand decisions to growth, market share, and client KPIs.
  • Design Thinking: Has experience developing complex brand systems and able to distill into clear, compelling briefs, frameworks, and stories that align teams and drive execution across disciplines.
  • Fluent in Cultural Insight & Consumer Truths: Able to identify trends through desk research, interviews interpreting cultural signals, human behavior, and market dynamics into actionable insights that help brands grow
  • Collaboration: Working with team to ensure that work is delivered as efficiently as possible and any project gaps or impediments are addressed, suggesting improvements to ways of working as needed.

Team management and mentorship

  • Resource management: Work with the client lead to manage the team servicing the client and coordinate resource across the project(s) to ensure delivering high quality outputs
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship, support and guidance for junior team members including coaching, resourcing, and bi-annual reviews

Process management

  • Proactive Management: Advise clients and lead delivery of projects, bringing strong knowledge of their business, organization, and specific requirements
  • Executional Excellence: Prepare insightful and relevant reports and presentations, with input and approval from business/client lead, and present the information to clients
  • Setting the Standard: Ensure proper account management processes and procedures are maintained, such that all client assignments are delivered on budget and on time.
  • Compliance: Ensure all internal reporting processes are completed, particularly in relation to contracts and financial controls.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, anticipate and resolve issues relating to client deliverables, retention and development opportunities, as well as profitability.

 

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Experience working in client-side, agency, or consulting roles with strong knowledge of the marketing, media and agency industries.
  • 10-15 year’s experience.
  • A self-starter who is motivated to join a growing company and prepared to actively participate in driving that growth.

 

Note:

Competitive salary: $100,000 –200,000 per year
