This role provides an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK’s fastest growing media services companies and will provide an ambitious individual with valuable experience for progression and development.

MediaSense requires an ambitious, detail-oriented Finance Manager, who will support the Finance Director in the day-to-day running of the Finance function and in implementing positive process change to allow Finance to support key stakeholders as the business scales. The key areas of responsibility include:

  • Take full ownership of the monthly accounts close process, including posting of all month end journals, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and drafting of Management Accounts with analytical commentary, for review by the Finance Director
  • Day-to-day management of the cash flow forecast for weekly review by the Finance Director
  • Supporting the Finance Director in building relationships with key business partners to help manage robust budgets and forecasts.
  • Liaising closely with Client Owners to ensure revenue forecasts, tracking and invoice schedules are accurate and up to date. Overseeing the timely raising of POs / invoices and collection of client debt
  • Processing of monthly payroll / pensions and expenses for the UK and India offices, acting as the point of contact for MediaSense working closely with external payroll company, Pension administrator and providers
  • Preparation of all key statutory declarations including quarterly VAT returns, P11Ds, PAYE and quarterly grant claims, as well as liaison with German accountants to ensure timely submission of local documentation
  • Support the Finance Director in liaising with external auditors during the year end audit, including preparation of all key schedules and day-to-day query resolution
  • Accurate and timely posting of all customer / supplier invoicing and bank entries into the accounting system and setup of supplier payment runs
  • Support the Finance Director and key business partners with ad-hoc analysis as required
  • Manage tasks currently done by the Finance Administrator who will be on Maternity leave at the end of 2021
  • Supporting Client Owners with Customers set ups and Vendor Verification tasks including managing various customer invoicing portals.


The appointed candidate should:

  • Be a recently qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent)
  • Have played a key part in the month end process, including posting of month end journals and production of analytical management accounts
  • Have experience in liaising with external providers including payroll and audit
  • Have previous experience of transactional finance, including posting of customer and supplier invoices and debt collection
  • Have strong attention to detail and be of an analytical mindset, always looking for ways to improve processes
  • Possess the character to work closely and collaboratively with non-finance staff from across the business
  • Be able to work independently and be deadline driven
  • Be pro active and have problem solving skills


  • Intermediate Knowledge of Xero Accounting
  • Microsoft Excel and Word
