We specialise in advising clients across all aspects of their media supply chain; their agency, their media & technology partners, and their internal operating model. We are a challenger to the legacy media auditor, consultant and pitch advisory players of the marketing communications consultancy sector offering intelligent, mature and high value advice on business and media challenges.

Our services provide controlled and active management of media investments and assets, by eliminating waste, controlling costs, improving processes, managing relationships, increasing productivity and ultimately ensuring commercial and media goals are tightly aligned.

 

THE ROLE

A DataOps Manager has excellent analytical and data processing skills. They combine a knowledge of how to analyse and process large volumes of data with a mindset focused around efficiency and the desire to drive process improvement.

This is a relatively new role within the company, working across all teams and regions in which we have a presence and a DataOps Manager is considered a lead role when it comes to the delivery of important work, and management of more junior DataOps resource. As such collaboration is key. Data is central to MediaSense’s business model, and there are major plans to revitalise the way we process and evaluate data within the company, meaning the DataOps function are involved both in client deliverables where large datasets are being assessed – this is a notable trend in our digital work – and also in internal data-focused projects such as the creation and maintenance of MediaSense databases.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leading a team of Analysts, Senior Analysts, and junior managers to deliver a wide variety of data-focused workstreams
  • Managing multiple concurrent projects, meeting deadlines, and keeping key stakeholders updated on progress, flagging issues as needed
  • Collaborating with internal MediaSense Data Scientists and Data Engineers on large-scale data ingestion, automation, and processing workstreams
  • Working with the MediaSense Digital Team to automate and increase efficiencies in data capture, processing, databasing, automation, and client-facing outputs
  • Demonstrating the benefits of new ideas and ways of thinking within the DataOps team
  • Leading collaboration across numerous internal teams and stakeholders
  • Managing the career progression and personal development of DataOps Analysts, including training requirements, addressing any issues they may have, and managing their workloads
  • Working with external stakeholders to ensure access to the required data
  • Creating, powering, and maintaining dashboards
  • Identifying elements of existing processes that would benefit from automation and participating in building these automations
  • Leading rollouts of improved data practices within the business as required
  • Learning different platforms on the job
  • Staying informed of the latest developments in the data science and coding landscape
  • Taking responsibility for various challenging tasks on an ad-hoc basis to support the ongoing growth of our company
  • Having a working knowledge of key data sources and platforms (beneficial)

THE PERSON

The ideal candidate will have the following:

    • Digital experience from a media agency, media owner, consultancy or client background
    • Confident in processing large datasets across a number of sources
    • Understanding of and experience in building accessible databases
    • Knowledge of Alteryx, SQL or similar ETL tools
    • Experience with Tableau, PowerBI or similar data visualisation platforms
    • Experience with Azure, AWS and Google Cloud Platform
